I think he's probably having a cuppa at the garage at the end of the road. He'll likely be on the move again before I can get there, and I've just had my tea, so I won't be able to chase him down.

I hope he's in better spirits than last time I saw him.

Go Steve!

Just rested my ailing leg so it'll be an after midnight finish for me. But what a great night for a bike ride!
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

I'm sure he's had/going to be getting some advice on how to treat it.  Depends on which part is in pain, but I'm sure there is a solution ::-)
DJR (Dave Russell) now retired. Carbon Beone parts bin special retired to turbo trainer, Brompton broken, as was I, Whyte Suffolk dismantled and sold. Now have Mason Definition and Orbea M20i.

Is the hurting leg the one he broke?

Looks like there were problems uploading his ride to Strava. We've got the post-midnight section, but not the daytime ride.

No, it'sthe left leg that's painful.  :-\

That's a mixed blessing.  That it's not the right leg means that it isn't likely to be related to the broken ankle.  But on the other hand it means that Steve is putting stress on that leg to compensate for the other.  Maybe that isn't an issue given the time that has passed since the cast came off, and the musculature he will have developed over the past few months.

Still, hopefully the cause of the pain in the left leg disappears sooner rather than later.

When I saw Steve at the weekend, I was surprised at how high a gear he was trying to turn at very low rpm...

...then he changed UP:o

I just assume he knows what he's doing.  :-\

That seems to be a characteristic of all three challengers (Miles being the most obvious). I guess if you are not prioritising speed, have experienced distance legs and wish to keep the heart rate down, a low cadence makes sense
