On the negative side, it's the Viper, another Chelmocentric Pub 60km away with miserable, surly staff, so so beer and the decor of an average shed.

On the positive side, bobb and some other good people are going, so I'm in

On the positive side Carlos is having a grumble, which probably means all is as it should be and all's well with the world.

I'm in that London tomorrow morning, but hoping to be back in time to make Spa Rd for 1930.

If you are really good (when are you not), I will try to remember your brevet card and badge from the Arrow (2017 edition  :-[) and your brevet cards from the Kelvedon Oyster.

I'm hoping to be out tomorrow....I have very few excuses other than the domestic front! And yes, that will be on 2 wheels powered by pedals!

I'm happier now I know that ted and 2 cheerful Kiwi's are riding :)

Ahhh, the 2017 Arrow, it'll always be a fond memory. We battled through wardrobe malfunctions, broken knees, self doubt and 5 bean curry, to ride an amazing 460km and get validated for an improbable 399km

I'm actually smiling right now :)

We battled through ... 5 bean curry

And you were wondering why all of a sudden I was happy to be on the front after Sleaford  ::-)  Much as we usually all enjoy following behind your pert behind, that does not apply after you have dined at 'Spoons.

Very sorry, but I'm blaming the strangler, the curry was on special offer and he insisted on treating me at every 'spoons.

As time went on I could barely contain myself :-\

.....That does not compare to Carlos choice in controlling at a veggy café and having to nibble on a baby spud garnished with a rocket leaf on the hilly 600km BCM leaving me bonked in Harlech. Didn't manage to catch up with the Acme group again until 4pm the next day.

No beans on toast option then?

I think beans on toast would have been out of the question.....it was one of those 'niche veggy specialist' establishment. Even the fizzy soft drinks were made from some sort of elderflower concoction.

No cow pie Desperate Dan.

It was one of the best veggie cafés I've ever been too. Strangler left his plate half full and suffered, I ate up and was flying to Maccynlleth. (Quite literally at one point trying to keep up with tippers at 80kph down the mountain )

Do we have a proposed route for tonight?

This is one of the elders' (OD) from a while back.  I like this one as I can meet the peleton by the Generals at the top of TMNH

I guess the Witham peloton will arrive at the Viper around 9? I'll either meet you there or find you en route...

You could knock 10km off that route if it didn't go South of the A12 :)

I’m late leaving the big smoke, so probably not at the Viper until 9:30.

I've managed to knock 66km off the route by stopping in Witham.

Sorry lovely people I'm not really fit enough to make it. Have a good night. ( If you can, it is a crap pub you know. ;))

Yep, that café nearly turned me vege, I was absolutely blown away by how good the food was.

Obviously, it was only nearly!

Hello jibers, you lovely man  :-* please can I make a FORWARD PLANNING request...

As you know myself and The Current Mrs R avec our caravan are, providing we're spared and don't get knackered by Brexit, going to out of the country for a protracted period of time from 1st May onwards.  In the intervening period we shall also be travelling widely which means the only Wednesday evenings I shall be available prior to the Grand Depart are this Wednesday (mercifully reserved for The Maltster's Arms), 3rd and 24th April.  Now then, the thing is I have a sheet of CAMRA 50p off vouchers dated 1st April to 30th June which I shall have little opportunity to use.  Therefore Jim Can You Fixit For Me to visit a 'spoons pubbe on either 3rd or 24th April?  Obviously I shall distribute said vouchers generously via the good offices of The Beer Bitch TM

Thanking you in advance.

Love OD aged 55 and a bit
