Tour of Britain - stage 2

At the invitation of a friend, spent a few days in Barnoldswick to see second stage of road tour.  Must be the friendliest and most welcoming town I have ever visited. The countryside is simply amazing.  Also took the opportunity to pay a homage visit to Carradice, a fantastic week end all round.

Drove around the course. The cat 1 climb had the car struggling! Local cycling is not for the faint hearted. I am glad to say that the Council is very good at placing  benches at key locations.

Photo of peleton crossing a humped back bridge over the Leeds Liverpool Canal from a conveniently placed pub (The Anchor). An outrider shouted that watching and drinking beer was not fair! A nice touch was the placing of a witches broom in a support vehicle whilst a rider ahead of the Peleton wore a sheepskin and ram's horned helmet.
