Almost newbie time trial question
« on: 03 April, 2023, 08:20:51 pm »
Last year we entered the Tandem Tarts Time Trial, organised by Sotonia CC. We didn't die, nor fall off (we were on a long barrow).   We're having another go this year.

Are there any rules regarding electronic devices? I want to use my phone to "navigate" the route so I know how far we have to go, that sort of thing.  I don't have a dedicated cycle computer. Can I have it squawk distances into my ear?

I've had a look at the Rules and Regulations on the CTT website but couldn't see anything.
There are two ways you can get exercise out of a bicycle: you can
"overhaul" it, or you can ride it.  (Jerome K Jerome)

Technically you are not allowed to listen to music via ear phones/buds but no issue if the stoker has them I guess.
Loudspeakers are OK, I had Xmas pop blasting out during a Boxing Day 10 this last year.
