Google Sketchup vs Online Free Sketchup
« on: 10 January, 2019, 10:58:19 am »
I last used Sketchup in 2006 and I want to get back in for a couple of projects.

In the meantime it became Google Sketchup, which I downloaded but never used, and now it's Trimble Sketchup and unless you pay it's hobbled. It also only works in a browser, and comes up with frequent prompts to upgrade to a paid version.

Anyone used both, and if so is there anything to be gained in using the on-line one (other than cloud storage, which doesn't worry me)?

Cheers.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

I downloaded Sketchup 17 about a year ago and it was just a downloadable program.  The freebie is Sketchup Make and the paid for version is Sketchup Pro.

You can still download and rely on SketchUp Make 2017 for desktop, our old free version.
