[HAMR] Jan 26th

Looks like Steve is having a lie in - no tracker at 5.35am - unless the electronics are playing up.

He is under way now.

Jolly good, 5.45am start which might have been his scheduled departure time.

No host booked tonight, so presumably it's a loop back to Milton Keynes.

Looks like he's heading west.

But the forecast for later in the week looks awful :(

About 122 miles needed to exceed Tommy's January total.

Head SW Steve I`d say for later in week, certainly not up North. Very strong NW airflow develops Wed onwards
....after the `tarte de pommes`, and  fortified by a couple of shots of limoncellos,  I flew up the Col de Bavella whilst thunderstorms rolled around the peaks above

Hire a camper van. Get someone to drive you overnight to Milford Haven. Take advantage of the strong westerlies. 207 miles of anyone’s money.

Hope Steve gets a good day in today.
Getting there...

Looks like Steve managed a bit longer rest last night. It will have done him good, there is nothing like your own bed for a " proper" sleep.
Weather looks a bit pants later in the week so a couple of good days would help his campaign.

Bollox.

He's been past Vale Cycles in Evesham and Echelon in Pershore, and I'm too late to phone them.

Hopefully, they were both watching and came out to cheer.

Looks like the grub at Wobbly's gaff has proved to be a hit, Steve seems to be heading there for lunch!

Wobbly gets let off. Diverting at Pershore so it looks like Chewkesbury again.

Crikey! Good job I didn't check his whereabout earlier else I'd have gone into a panic assuming that's just what he was doing!

However he now appears have stopped in Tewkesbury, no doubt at one of the Temperance Pubs they have there.

Missed it again.

I have to do work here.  :(

Never mind, the guys at Pashley might come out and jeer at the lunatic on a Raleigh....  ;D

There are a couple of links. Steve did a lot of his early Audaxes (including PBP95) on a Pashley Moulton and rode LEL13 on a Pashley-built Moulton TSR.

It'll be very ironic if Steve went through Stratford Upon Avon this afternoon and no-one at Pashley knew...
...because that's where I've been all afternoon; at Pashley Cycles!

Looks like Marsh Gibbon could be on the cards again :)
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

Steve is still out, although getting close to home, with over 180 miles on the tracker. That will be close to 200 on Strava.

I just had a quick look at IronOx's tracker. He's managed an heroic 33 miles. However, the point that interested me greatly was that the temperature in the Fort Worth area has shot up from below 0°C, which is where it was at the start of the year, to over 20°C. How do you prepare for a day's cycling with that sort of day-to-day temperature variation?

I guess a support vehicle just follows you and picks up all the clothes that are strewn* over the road !

He's got a rather large carbon footprint too.

Steve's been home for almost an hour but still no Strava upload. Tactical delaying ?
