Off to pick someone up from the airport, so I will take probably my only chance this year to start the daily thread!

Go Steve!

He's on the move, heading south.

There are two major sporting events going on at the moment.  England v Australia in the Cricket World Cup and the One Year Time Trial.  It is more pleasant watching Steve's resolute progress than the impending doom of the last 20 overs of the Australian innings.

Waiting for fry up no. 2 at the Premiere Inn in Newark.
Finding out their eat as much as you like breakfasts are also for non residents was very good news.
Should crack 300km today and might even bag another double century.
But first, time to eat!

Do you know, a little thought went through my mind, when I saw the tracker heading for Newark, that a fry-up would be involved. I've not been to the Premier Inn there, but I have been to the Old King's Arms with my pal the late Peter Blewett, chess-player, cyclist and real ale enthusiast non pareil. Peter was wearing a T-shaped shirt bearing the slogan "I like having mine hand-pulled at the Old King's Arms". That was in 1984.

Have a good meal, Steve!

Most Premier Inns have an adjoining Whitbread hostelry/restaurant, which is open to non-residents. (Table-table or Beefeater)
The menu is pretty standardised.

192.6 miles according to Strava. It's quiet on here today - perhaps everyone is out on their bikes...

I think the same is true for travel lodges that serve breakfast. Certainly was true in Tewkesbury two years ago. Mind you not many TLs serve breakfast. Tewkesbury and Hull are the only two I have stayed in where this has happened.
