The Welsh 3000s

The hardest thing I ever did was the Welsh 3,000s in about 19 hours. That was at the end of a season when I did my best ever 24 hour and 12 Hour times, and won our club BAR. I got into the top 10 of the long distance BAR. I still wouldn't have been able to stay with our club run through hilly terrain, lack of power to weight being the problem. that's why Audaxes suited me. I remember seeing an article about the Welsh 3,000s in Arrivee.

Intrigued by this! I'm a much slower rider than ESL, but have a couple of Welsh 3s times which compare quite well with his:

1964 (age 22, when spending quite a lot of time on the mountains): 12.40 (Aber to Pen y pass)
1988 (age 46, with 15-y-o son) 18 hours (Foel grach refuge to tent in Cwm Glas Mawr)

Can anyone locate that article in Arrivee please?
