Good News - I just got a big fat refund to my credit card.
Bad News - because they cancelled 'our' festival in the summer.
Good News - we'll have to think of something else good to do instead.
More Good News - childcare permitting, I might be able to volunteer to help out for Sleepy's 600 now.

Still  :'( about the festival tho....

Good news: I found and bought 3 slim calendars for the kids in Tesco

Bad news: they were so slim, I left them in the trolley

Following yesterday's foray to Brick Lane and surrounding areas:

BN: I found a gorgeous green velvet jacket which was a perfect fit, but it had patch pockets.
GN: Later in the day I found a lovely black velvet jacket which fit well and had proper pockets.  Also found a white silk scarf1 at the same shop.

1How have I made it to the ripe old age of mubbledymumbble without owning a white silk scarf???

My frame is back from the sprayers! However, 'back' means back at the bike shop in Lancs and won't land with me until the new year.... dammit when I'll once again be short on building time!

Bad news:   I got to the counter in Waterstones and couldn't find my debit card....

Good news: It's in Cotswold, where I left it last night     I can pop in tomorrow to pick it up, as long as I have photo id.

This means I've no cash until I can sort this out.....  A quiet night in then..

I'm lucky they didn't report it to the bank, who would probably have cancelled it on the spot.  I still have a cheque book somewhere, but it's been a long time since I used it!

I visited my sister today:
Good news: She has a sheffield stand in her garden!
Bad news: She has really bad flu (and now I feel like I might have caught it too).

That's possible, but I think it's more likely a high concentration of cows' lips and pigs' arseholes.

Bad News: it's rather wet here.
Good News: David put new roofing felt on his 'warm room' yesterday.

Bad News: it's even wetter in Christchurch, where David's Dad lives.
Good news: we don't visit him for another fortnight. I've booked very cheap train tickets and Premier Inn accommodation for this trip.
Bad news: these bookings can't be refunded or amended...

Bad news:  Barakta just did a CrinklyLion after successfully retrieving one of our many cheese graters from a high cupboard.

Good news:  She landed on her arse rather than her hand or head, and so far doesn't appear to have more than her standard invisible bruising.

A spectacular prat fall for no good reason?  Yeah, I do have form for those...

Well, arses make better landing areas than hands, elbows, hips, or indeed one's cleavage straight down in the mud - trust me, the latter is quite funny but it isn't pretty.

Hope that invisible bruising is the full extent of it!

Quite.

She came over rather queasy afterwards, and I was concerned about shock and the possibility of high-innuendo fractures, but seems to be okay now.  Of course I haven't made her ride 7 miles to check...

Plus, she's supposed to be accompanying me to the hospital tomorrow, and I don't think they do BOGOF.

There's more than one way of interpreting that sentence, but far be it from me to cast aspersions in any particular direction.  O:-)

For my part, I would much sooner that Mrs. Wow had succeeded in staying upright on Sunday when I was out. GWS to any of the inadvertently horizontal.
