Fixing garmin .fit file?
« on: 20 June, 2013, 06:41:46 am »
I tried to upload my ride to strava today but it says "bad file data". Any chance somebody can fix it? I tried the fit file fixer tool but it clears half of the data :/

Original file is here: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?41588-Help-repair-fit-file

I have had good outcomes with the Garmin Online Fit Repair Tool at http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ Maybe worth a try?

I'll try running it through the Fit File Repair Tool when I get home this evening.
It usually makes a reasonable job of extracting what it can from a corrupted file.

Depending on exactly what the corruption is, some of the data may be beyond recovery.
I notice the file is only 9.1KB, that's rather small.  I don't expect it will contain very much data.

ETA:
So I've run it through the fit file repair tool, and re-exported it.
The processed file can be grabbed here:

It uploads to Garmin Connect OK:

You'll need to try Strava yourself.

Your original file is only 9KB big, and contains only 10k of tracklog, I'm afraid.
