e-trex and setting for archiving tracks
« on: 15 June, 2015, 06:22:37 pm »
The default setting for the etrex is to archive tracks daily which means that it splits rides that go over night. I join these either by text editor or in Basecamp. The last couple of rides I've done (a 400 and a 600) have split into three despite taking place within 2 days. Whilst all doable in truth it's a bit of a faff and when I joined the 3 tracks from the Dragons and Legends this weekend I seemed to have lost a couple of KM from the total. I wondered if there's a way of avoiding all this,

Query 1 - is there a reason why it should have suddenly started to split it into 3?

Query 2 - what are the consequences of changing the archive setting to 'when full', will it cope with a 400 or 600 without splitting it?

At default record settings, a 400 probably, 600 not.
when you're dead you're done, so let the good times roll
