I’ve drunk some. One of my mates has gone off early1. My other mate seems to have got lost between the bar and the garden where he’s gone for a smoke. I’m surrounded by youngsters, many f whom have just arrived due to the later drinking hours in this pub.
But my senior status as a local continues to get me served when I want and the bar staff continue to favour my presence.
I’ve got beer, friends (somewhere) and a seat at the bar. I’m happy.
1. He has father to travel to the pub than I do and his better half continues to provide bike with transport. Also they’ve got a stupid o’clock start tomorrow to take a small to the bus for her ATC weekend away.
