Oooh! Hope my David's going to be OK; he's at Cambridge's Institute of Astronomy today and cycling there from the station. He's on my old tourer (dissuaded him from taking the Brompton.)

Main roads seem to be OK...

It is a light dusting rather than a heavy layer.

More sno here, in (now) sunny North Yorkshire.  Rumours that penguins and polar bears are migrating here might not be that far off the mark (ready for the ride on 11th Dec)

a minimal dusting is descending on Forest Hill...

Been snowing here since mid-morning,  sticking in places.  Could be an interesting ride this evening :)

as it proved. 1 1/2 hours to do 12 miles   :o

There was about 1 cm or so of snow, but it (and the water on the roads) had frozen hard.   Very precarious progress was made on the downhills.  The coaster brake was very useful indeed, though.  Marathon Plusses are awful on ice.

One very nasty moment when a driver overcooked it on a lane near our house, lost control and came careering down the road unable to slow down.  I had to dive into the hedge.

Excited cats today though.  They keep coming in to tell us about it.

A few flakes blowing around in Reading a little while ago. Blue sky now.

Do you want to email me an entry for the Snow Roads perm*?
Whereabouts are you, btw?

*"Somebody" actually did the ride in November two or three years ago.
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

Blimy.  We were snowed in on Friday!
Now the problem is ice on our hill out.
Neighbour had a go and spun and crashed.
I've made it to the shops in Llandysul.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Not a cloud in the sky here on the Fylde. Off for a short, but I suspect, chilly ride in a little while.

We appear to have had some snow overnight here in Birmingham.  Temperature is still failing to get above zero, so all things being equal, I'm glad the Tunnel Ride has been cancelled.
