I have just had to true my Mavic Aksium rear wheel as it was ever so slightly wobbly.
Mavic wheels are rubbish! You wouldn't have thought it would need truing yet, it's only had 44 months of hard (ab)use!!       ;)

Tempo eventually restored to roadworthiness, although not without pinching a brake pad holder from another bike.  Ah well, I don't need gears for the next few months, do I.

Added brake pad holders to the ever-growing list of things I should probably hold in stock...  (also, tried copperslip on the grub screws this time).

Cleaned all the muck off the Planet X accumulated from the trip to Dunwich, and then rode up and down the street pleased that the grating noise had disappeared.

Then my foot slipped off the pedal (I was wearing trainers rather than my SPD shoes) and I hurt myself rather a lot.  It's a good job I didn't want any more children anyway.

I put the Brompton into the garage so that the mud on it will dry, flake off, and leave me with a self-fettled pristine clean machine.

I think I deserve a Pompino for that.

I don't think it's technically possible to give a GURL a Pompino  :o

I fitted a new mudguard clip (courtesy of Tewdric) to the clubman so it's ready for the FNRttS...the last long ride of this year, probably.  And there's a raspberry crumble cooking in the oven because the Little Misses came home from my parents with a big bowl of slightly gooey raspberries.

I finally got around to trimming the absurdly long loop of gear cable inner that has been coiled up, protruding from the rear derailleur, ever since I changed it a couple of months ago. It was in June, IIRC. I've even fitted one of those little caps to stop the cable fraying (further). Should I mention that I only got around to this today because I ground to a sudden halt when the coil got somehow looped round the jockey wheel, jamming the chain?

Removed my broken bottle cage from the frame. The result of flappy trousers only secured on the chain side, strong winds and a weak weld.

Did a bit of voodoo ergonomics on barakta's stoker bars.  We appear to have success, in that after an hour's riding her right arm is now suffering more than her left, and her arse is suffering more than both.

I forgot that on my way to work, the front brake started making some metal-on-metal time to replace pad sounds.  A quick fettle of a set of spare pads onto the bike made sure things were OK on the way home.

Mrs Dan ran over some glass on Monday. Replacement tube also went down. Yesterday evening I spent some time looking for bits of something nasty in the tyre. Tube still went bang (properly bang, just spinning the wheel). Dan's diagnosis - that tear in the tyre, maybe 5mm, pokes into the tube. Time for a new tyre. Time to do an emergency child-seat-ectomy and fiddle with light brackets on my old Trek to make today commutable.

Last night: attached my Lumicycle twin halogen lights (that I've not used for ages) upside down to an Acor accessory bar.  Flippin' hell, they're bright.

Had to drill a new hole in one of the light cans to move the switch to where I can get my fingers.

Nice smooth ride into work.  I enjoyed every bit.  And added a couple of km on the end so that I can reach my annual target today.
