When considering UI there should be a mandatory question asked. Is this type of UI used in a jet fighter. If the answer is no, then it is NOT fit for purpose.

MrsT announced Friday that we'll be getting Visitors this pm. Fuckkit, the sun's shining and there's no wind and now I have to clean out the god-damned parrot. :demon:

Plus: they get CAEK and éclairs and "I didn't get any for you" since I'm diabetic and can only eat them halfway through a ride and WHY won't I be halfway through a ride this pm, mm? Mm?
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

I suppose the red arrows might have a choice of spin speed?

Joined several local FB groups to post an item for sale. I carefully made sure to 'unfollow group' and set notifications to off but I'm still getting all the shite people are selling on my feed. Useless pile of poo.

Wretched village kids came round trick-or-treating in the American tradition last night. At least, that's what they thought they were doing, but all they were really up to was mob-handed begging for sweets - there must have been 30-odd all strung out along the footpath, probably a primary-school class with a teacher tagging along.  I put the outside light on and opened the door to the first lot to ring, told them "no sweets here". Closed up, light out. 30 seconds later the bell went again so I left the light out and gave them an 1800 lumen Cree in the face instead, whereafter peace.

I just had the butler standing in the porch with a sawn-off.  Works wonders.

Most of the farmer's kids around here would come back with Daddy's boar-slaying rifle.

Been waiting well over a year for a cover to come into stock for our Ikea sofa. Now it's finally in stock it's not available for delivery. Nearest collection store is a 300 mile round trip away.  >:(

Thanks for the offer fboab, but it seems to be 'instore only' at Gateshead, no click und collect unfortunately.
That's only available at Glasgow, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Wembley, Cardiff.
Thanks anyway :)

“Tomorrow. Thank you.”

Leaving the above as a message on my answering machine is unlikely to persuade me to call you back, or even give you money in the more likely scenario, viz. you’re a Very Stupid Scammer.  Programming your message-bot to wait until the thing goes “beeeeeeeep” might yield better results.

I'd forgotten about it, but it's back. It comes around every year. Is it a week tomorrow? I'm not sure, I just want not to be told about it, but I've just received and instantly deleted my first email about, yes you guessed it, Black Friday.

Apropos of the grammar thread, I got an email about Pre-Black[1] Friday(sic) offers from South Downs Bikes on Tuesday.

If there’s any decent offers to be had on pre-abused laptops I might have to bite the bullet and, y'know…  Eurrgh, I feel dirty now.

Servicing basic hubs - usually pretty simple - front needs a 13mm cone spanner, rear a 15mm, both plus a 17mm for the locknut.  But no, pair of wheels from a Specialized bike needs 2 off 17mm cone spanners . . .  and who has more than 1 of each of the cone spanner sizes?  Not me, I have a complete Park set from 13 to pretty big, but just one of each.

... and while I'm at it - there must be an easier and less messy way to refill a Park Tools grease gun from a bulk can of grease . . .  I have to use a flat tyre lever to spoon the stuff in, press it down - and repeat - then a home-made tool (bit of seatpost tube) to push the inner cap up to create the pressure. Aaargh!  Oh, and a bigger gun (more grease) would be an improvement.

The Friday after Thanksgiving, which is the 3rd Thursday in November. In the US.  Has the UK a Thanksgiving these days?

It might start to be a thing after the next election

But if Britain was to adopt Thanksgiving then we should support our Commonwealth partner and follow the Canadian practise of the 2nd Monday of October.  :demon:
