Does anyone else grow roses?
« on: 15 September, 2009, 08:14:30 pm »
I just thought it was worth mentioning that my hybrid teas have reached proportions unrecognised by any gardening manual.  Polar Star is over 6' tall and the others are more than 5', all covered with flowers.  Hybrid teas generally reach 3', 4' at the outside.

It's the Swindon clay - they love it.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

"Gardener's World" a fortnight ago said they had evolved to grow to that height to avoid being cut down by shortarsed chavs who are proposing to their pregnant chavettes?

You're assuming she'd accept and ruin her chances of a council house on one of the "P" estates.

Everything I've planted has died.

I was told that Roses are easy - snip, dump in ground, they grow.

I denied this,  I snipped, dumped them all in the ground, they all grew.

Anybody want a rose  :-[ ???

You should try planting apple trees, nutty.
It is simpler than it looks.
