MagnaClean Micro2

Does anyone have any experience of this product?

We have just had to have our central heating pump replaced as 20+ years of sludge has taken its toll.  Plumber recommended fitting one of these MagnaClean units to give us another few years of life to the aging system.  Parts of the system date back to the 70s if not further (boiler, tank, pump etc 20 years ish) so power flushing is not recommended so it is suggested that we drain the system, fit the MagnaClean, refill with de-sludging chemical(run for a few days), then drain and refill with inhibitor.

Thanks

R

Systems should be fitted with magnetic filters these days as they remove the magnatite particulates which accumulate over time and keeps them away from the boiler heat exchanger. Learn how to remove and clean periodically. (its easy).  Good brand, good investment.

I fitted a Fernox TF1 to our system at home and it's really easy to flush out and dose with inhibitor.

I replaced the Fernox TF1 at Fort Larrington a couple of years ago, a task which took one and a half international rugby matches because insufficient light and "plastic" threads which turned out to be made of aged Brie.  If Lt. Col. Larrington (retd.) ever needs it replacing again he can GAMI >:(

We had to have a new boiler in 2017, and they installed MagnaClean Professional2.  We have microbore /older system so powerflush was not recommended.

This is the magnetic catcher at the 12 months boiler service.  As I remember the magnetic rod is straight sided and the bulges in sludge are due to the magnetic field...
