Dremel advice wanted

(1/3) > >>

andrewc:
I've got the classic stuck cleat with knackered hex head problem.  I want something to cut a slot across the bolt so I can get a screwdriver blade in and try to remove it that way.

The dremel kit with 25 accessories seems to include some cutting discs, but I can't find any details of them.   Can anyone tell me if they are suitable for using on the steel & brass ATAC cleat  ?

The cost of the kit is about the same cost as a new pair of Shimano sandals....

Ham:
Cutting discs will cut through most things - wear eye protection!!!

Chris N:
Use the fibre reinforced discs if you can, they're much less likely to shatter and work better on hard materials.

Yes.

Used one to cut through a broken front spring on the front of a car quite recently; could not use the bigger grinder/cutter due to access restrictions.

andrewc:
I guess that will do it then!
Thanks all.
