Blue Boar is definitely out; phoned them today.

How about 'The Jolly Sailor' down by the Hythe? The Queens Head over the road seems to be our usual Maldon waterside pub, if not at the Blue Boar/Carpenters Arms up the top of the town. Standard pub food, ploughmans, rolls, salads, fish and chips, pies etc plus an upmarket gastro-menu.

All the above works for us (*)

(*) I am hoping to be accompanied by The Current Mrs R and Victoria Pendalton both of whom may not fancy a ride along the seawall to Goldhanger.  However, hold that thought for another time as it sounds like fun.

The Jolly Sailor seems to have improved his culinary skills since the last time I visited.

As regards the seawall, parts are a mudfest at the moment so Ms Pendleton and others may need to wear their biggest boots.

The Barge Tea Rooms might be good for lunch, then beer elsewhere? Maybe we'll have had enough, with a 'spoons breakfast n'drinks, Mighty Oak beer tasting ...

My brother's a possible.

It's looking a tad windy on Saturday. Might actually have to tack into the wind

I am planning to attend Saturday.

Any plans to gather in Witham, or just make our own way to Maldon on Mud?

The Barge Tea Rooms might be good for lunch

Is that the plan, and is the intention to just rock up en-masse or pre-book? About what time?

I expect your Current Mrs R and Vicky will determine route and launch time, I'm flexible....

I will consult.  There's no guarantee she'll join us, there's some REAL LIFE TM knocking about at the moment which may determine what she does and doesn't do.

Sounds like a cat-herding situation to get that organised, I reckon we'll have to take pot luck. If we make the beer tasting early [11-ish, when it starts], then down to The Barge for 12:30 - might get too busy if we leave it later?

Sounds like a plan. Second question. Which Mighty Oak location is it, the Tap Room or the Brewery near to Supertyres off Spital Road?
