Highclere Interservice 200k Sportive

Was ace.  Quite hilly, quite windy, very very very sunny and warm.
I managed to hit the gold standard - and as that was my aim I am well happy.
205k in 7 hours 7 mins and sommit like 37 seconds.
129.14 miles at 18.35 average per hour getting up to 47.54 max speed.

There were loads of event photographers so I will be buying one this time as I am that happy.

Thats a great result, congrats.

I didnt do quite so well.  I managed gold last year but was over 2 hours slower yesterday!!  Combination of reasons I think, not being fully recovered from previous two weeks exertions, bit of a virus a few days beforehand and being too much of a fat b@stard at the moment.

I was going reasonably well for about the first 70K but then blew up, the remainder of the ride was then a bit of a struggle!

Still a nice day out though.

If you go here and then put 429 in the Event Number / Rider number box to the top right, you get to see 6 faces of concentration.

You can do it all again on the 28th.  The harder way up  ;)
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.
