I didn't know whether it was going to be a procession or something interesting. The race was a 1 mile standing start on quite a twist track...

A speed wobble is *very* exciting

The winner

What can you say about people racing C5's?

Nothing except they seemed to be enjoying themselves

Some people took the chopper race seriously

Others didn't

You don't normally see this many choppers in public

Cool!  I shall post some pics tonight.  Not as good as these, but then i wasn't familiar with the camera.*

Btw, wasn't the Ordinary race a rolling start after one lap?

Amusing moments:  Finish marshall dancing on a stepladder; other marshall desperately trying to read obscured race numbers of C5 riders; improvised bell(s) (or lack thereof) for last lap.

I believe the races were held loosely under BC/UCI regs, so helmets were mandatory.  This news does not seem to have reached the Chopperistas. ;D

 That's the VCC crowd, I've seen them at Herne Hill before.

 That guy from Maldon CC was winning everything back then.

 Graham I am sure neil at Maldon CC would be interested in them for their website, their Flickr group is here;

I was going to say something about the wide variety of socks worn by the people wearing socks, but I got distracted by wondering if a feather boa would be too over the top for daytime wear for my bike.
