I must admit that I thought she was one of the victims of the 2016 celebrity die-off.  Nevertheless, what Pingu said.

I spent far too long last night in bed when I should have been asleep doing (if I say so myself) a very fine Tina Turner impression, on hearing the news. Mr Smith had to put a stop to it when I was about to get up, put some heels on and do her brilliant stamp-y dance.

Great lady, great body of work.

I liked Nutbush City Limits1 as a good old rockin' along nuā¶mber at the time.  Everything else was a bit too poppy for my taste.
Massive respect for escaping abuse to become the influential legend that she was.
