Folding competition

Won by a Moulton, it appears.

The first Brompton rider scuppers his chances by unshipping the chain, although the second does better.

As for the Bike Friday - what a faff, and it's hardly any smaller when folded  ;D

That was a con.

The Moulton didn't fold, it seperated. I wonder how the rear brake operates.

And the two halves don't even clip together - he has to run with one half in each hand.

The Tikit was pretty impressive, though...
Getting there...

AM2 : back pedal brake / back pedal gear change.
He doesn't rejoin it properly, in that he doesn't put the Kingpin bolt in.  I certainly wouldn't like to ride my APB too far without the Kingpin in!

I think the Brompton riders were having an unusually bad day.  I can fold my Brompton far quicker than my Moulton (if you disregard the cable connectors, etc).  Plus as it has been pointed out, the Moulton isn't a folder - they might want to introduce a rule that "all parts of the bike must remain attached"

I too like the Tikit - could it be fitted with drops and a double chainset, I wonder...?

'Yes, at the expense of folded size' and 'They are working on it'.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...
