Audacious dogs!

On yesterday's 200 from Groningen, we had an extra joining the trip:

Freddie!

He made it too, in about 10 hours.

Anyone else had a hound join their ride?

No, but I remember the (dead) pheasant making it round the Elenydd in someone's Carradice a couple of years ago!

A dog did PBP in a front basket in 2011.

Couldn't find the picture I was looking for but found this tweet: https://twitter.com/kieronyates/status/569878145064701954

I did once have a wandering Border Collie join us on a club run for four or five miles until we came to a downhill long enough to discourage him. I think he'd have got bored with a 200k.

Not a proper audax, but Gwyn the dog has done the 100 km Isle of Wight Randonnee in a basket every year of her life (four times).

She's also worked as a controller on the Ditchling Devil.

I've had the idea of her doing a 50 km on her own paws*, on something like the Hertfordshire Greenways which has lots of non-road sections, but we both had other plans yesterday. Obviously I'd speak to the organiser first...

(* her owner is an ultra marathon trail runner, and she's easily done the distance before in a day)

I might need/decide to do a DIY 200 with a half way dog walk.
If I can be bothered keeping RRTY 5 going...

Someone started LEL2013 with dog on (in?) a cargo bike but abandoned fairly early on I believe.

I think keeping the dog fed and watered was an issue, so handed it over to some-non-cycling-other to look after.

Shortly after that, the steering rod detached and they had to abandon.
Lockdown lethargy. RRTY: wot's that? Can't remember if I'm on #8 or #9 ...
