OSM Cycle Routing
« on: 24 September, 2011, 05:54:38 pm »
I have added some tracks around a lake and they are now appearing on OSM Cycle map in Bikehike but the routing alorgithm does not use them.  Do they take longer to filter through the system than map elements or do I need to do something in OSM?

I have set 'use OSM' in options.

Thanks

The routing calculations are separate from OpenCycleMap, which is just a bitmap image.
Bikehike use Cloudmade routing, I'm not sure how often it is updated, but it sometimes seems to be a few weeks or even months out of date. So just wait a while, and it will probably work.

Or there are a few other OSM based routing services you could try, which may be more up to date.
eg Open Mapquest http://open.mapquest.co.uk/
or OpenRouteService http://openrouteservice.org/

CloudMade are not renowed for updating their OSM data very frequently. ;)

About monthly, IIRC.
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.
