Etrex30 software up to 3.1

Not sure if this is old news, but just updated my Etrex30 and was surprised to get version 3.1

I was upgrading from 2.8 so was pleased to find that my long-standing complaint about incorrect altitude gain readouts had been fixed (actually back in 2.9 apparently).

Also found a new menu icon called "Adventures".  Pressed it but nothing very exciting happened appart from an extra Smartie on my mid-ride cake.

Thanks for the tip off, I've just updated my E30.

Finally got mine to update - would only update in USB mode. In Garmin mode, webupdater reports the update file as corrupt.

Yes, took me several attempts with different computers to find the right combination that would recognise the Etrex and let me update the file.

And I was wrong about the Total Ascent being fixed.  It still loses around 20% of the actual ascent gain over a ride.
