Title: Market Harborough area - local knowledge
Post by: robgul on 04 September, 2022, 01:43:29 pm
Does anyone know what the short stretch of NCN 64 is like from where the tarmac runs out to the north of Great Bowden to where the tarmac starts near the lake please?  Google Streetview suggest that it may be tarmac?
I'm orgnaising a ride (touring bikes) and need to know it's suitable - it's only about a mile or so

Thanks

It is a few years since I cycled along there but from memory it is simply a country lane that has been blocked to through motorised traffic so the surface was good.

It's fine for road bikes.

We have cycled this road a couple of times - although that might be nearly 10 years now. The bridge over the stream might have been a squeeze for loaded tourers but otherwise an attractive route.
