Just to say we're open for business on 1 October
https://londonwaleslondon.com/ (https://londonwaleslondon.com/)

A few people have asked me if the page opens at midnight on 1 October. I'm assuming that's when the AUK site opens but I'd hate for people to be getting up in the middle of the night...so even in the event of us potentially selling out on the day, I won't stop taking entries on the day (stay in bed folks!).

Well... that was a surprise!
The AUK page for the event is still open for a couple more hours although I have changed the website in anticipation of closing to entries. So if you have not signed up but planned to do so, please pop along...
-
...that's yer lot now
-
Looking forward to it!
-
B**gg*r I missed it
-
Offers of help gratefully received!
-
Don't forget to let me know if you entered but now don't think you'll be riding - have emailed all entrants with a special incentive to encourage people to let know if plans have changed because I'm surprised at how few people seem to be pulling out this year! I'd be gutted to have a table full of unclaimed cards at the start having turned away so many people!

I would like to bring my campervan down and stay the night before and possibly the night after. I can find a naturist club and a glamping site but no other sites in a reasonable distance. Does anybdy know if there is car parking at the start i could use the night before?
-
This is the car park, no indication of a height restriction. Last year a Friday night ticket remained valid till early Monday morning.

Try this. Only a short distance from the start. https://www.highclerefarmpark.co.uk/

thank you.
Sadly Highclere are only doing long stay this season according to their website.

You'll be fine using the car park according to Google Street view. Last year someone parked thier van outside the community centre the night before and then moved it to the paid carpark just before the start without mishap.

Thank you.

what does it mean they only take key workers? I thought the Key worker expression was a Covid thing that no longer makes any sense. Are they really allowing delivery drivers and nurses but not bartenders, pensioners and office workers?
Something odd in that statement
-
I had presumed they were only taking longer term agricultural workers.
-
That makes sense… could have phrased it better, to avoid enquires from all sorts of “key workers”

Just been posting on FB about helping... if you're not riding we'd love to see you:
- At the START signing in riders and checking that the right people leave with the right cards (0500 to 0630) (I'm abandoning the 'help yourself to a card' routine this year)
- At Islip (0700 to 1030) welcoming riders, checking cards and riders, and pouring tea
- At Chepstow (1200 to 2130) welcoming riders at the half way point, feeding them and sending them on their merry way
- At Lambourn (1330 to 0400) Telling riders that they're almost home and keeping schtum about the climb to Beaconsfield
- At the Arrivee (2300 to 0945), Making soothing noises and dispensing restorative tea.
Even if you can only help for a few hours your help will be gratefully received and you'll be part of the fun. Plus, if LWL runs in 2025, helpers will be guaranteed a space on the start line.
Let me know if you are interested.

Just mailed out event details - if you think you've entered you should have an email from me.
