I’m wearing trousers (well jeans) for the first time this autumn and it’s a bit horrid. It doesn’t help that I had to be a little hasty in order to catch my first train and so warmed up quite a bit.
I really ought to stick to my instincts. Oh, and not decide to suddenly catch the earlier train ‘because I can’.
-
Nah, always catch the earlier train if you can, because the later one might be cancelled or delayed.
As for trousers, I have been wearing them on and off the last few weeks (not jeans, summery trousers that get soaked right through when it rains then dry quickly) but today I'm going to have to trudge around town a bit so I'm in shorts. Several layers on top half though.
-
Also, sandals for riding, cos they fit better and avoid lace entanglement, with socks for
warmth Vogue cover appearances, but shoes for footing.
-
I wore 'em last Friday because æroplane but not since. But I will today, because gig.
-
That’s the reason I’m wearing mine today. Now waiting airside at stansted for a aeroplane to Newquay. It’s cheaper than using the train, although the buses from Newquay to Helston will extend the journey time to about the same as using the train.
I hate modern airports. You can’t see the planes from inside the terminal. 😡

Currently sitting at the gate at Charles de Gaulle, from where I can see lots of aircraft.
-
I've been wearing trousers all year because this is BRITIAN and it's cold.

Well yes, once you get to the gate, but how long do you spend at the gate under normal circumstances?
-
Back home, glad I was in shorts, had to take a layer off the top. Out trudging again shortly, unless I put it off to tomorrow. But for tonight's bsl class I'll probably be in my Swrve 3/4s cos it's predicted to rain.
-
I think almost everybody ought to consider other people before deciding to wear shorts or 3/4s.

Dark glasses are available for those of a sensitive disposition ;D

In consideration of others, I wear a yashmak with my shorts. 8)

Ah, yes - I'd forgotten about beards! Shorts AND beards. It's all so Rugby Union. Mind you, they tend not to wear sandals. Where do you stand on tattoos?
-
Definitely long trousis today because Professor Larrington's gaff is bloody freezing even though it’s nice and sunny outside. Guess who hasn’t brought a jumper? May have to put on my denim jacket, aging rockers for the use of.
-
If the tattoo is on the rugbist's foot and they're wearing sandals (no socks), then you can stand on it. I believe this is legal and positively encouraged by the rugball footer union.
-
Shorts & t-shaped shirt today & the next few ditto by the look of it.
Re rugby and tats, you can stand on them anywhere the ref and the beady eyes-in-the-skies can't see. It's all good clean fun, innit?

Well spotted, Cudz. I'd missed that one!
-
I've been in shorts all day because I forgot to pack my trousis, and my towel, this morning. I hadn't held back on the ride in, either, and I suspect I'm a bit strong. Fortunately it's dead in here even for a Friday, so everyone can keep a respectful distance. Doubly fortunately it's my last day in the job.
-
Enjoy your evening!

Trousers? - I'm reckoning on another 3 or 4 weeks in shorts (although I will have to don a suit next Weds for a funeral - that said, it's my brother and I'm sure he'd have preferred everyone in shorts!)
-
It’s not been a shorts summer, but it has been a short summer.

Pints then?
-
Not yet, unless I have to go into the office and pretend to be a big boy
-
Shorts in the office for the last 18 months. They keep it way too warm in there.
Trousers a few days outside the office last winter when it snowed.
-
Outside of when I need to wear long shorts or trousers as some people call them its shorts from when BST is in effect.
Although actually had to put in longs when camping in August due to biting bugs and at the end of March as was camping, was wet and about 6 or 7 degrees
-
Srsly?
I've not donned long strides since the beginning of 2020.
-
Have just got home from Fort Larrington and donned my shorts, for it is warm in here.
-
The Aircon is the only way in which we get fresh air into this building. It hasn't worked since last Thursday.
It's like a sauna in here.
-
Decided to wear tights under my skirt today cos it was cold and pissing it down this morning.
Now the rain has stopped and I'm too hot.

Went to the vegetablemonger about 8 this a.m. in shorts but three top-half layers. Some people were in shorts and tees, others in winter coats. Temperature according to Met app was about 14. People are various, as is their reading of and reaction to weather. Got a bargain cauliflower which I'm know wondering how best to cook.
-
Shorts on Sunday, quite warm. Shorts most of yesterday. Definitely trousers today.
And I made a cauliflower and chickpea curry, in case you were wondering.
-
Popped out to the corner sklep just now. Definitely still shorts & T-shaped shirt weather.
-
I only tend to wear long trousers for formal work or council meetings.
-
I’ve been wearing shorts, sandals and Hawaiian shirt for the past few days, and when I’ve wandered away from the homestead I’ve felt the need to don my Panama hat. It’s well into October ffs, in Britain. It’s supposed to be autumn.
-
It's definitely autumn. Yellow leaves, colourful berries. I ate some sloes (or perhaps they were damsons) from a hedge on Sunday.
