Title: Small electric grill
Post by: chrisbainbridge on 08 December, 2023, 04:22:11 pm
Being the new owner of an old campervan I need to upgrade parts.

I am looking for a small (2steak) electric grill to deploy in the van using my new powerpack. I am thinking 2 small sirloins, 2 beefburgers or 3-4 rashers of bacon.

I think these are often referred to as teriyaki grills?
The small George Foreman might work especially as the lid keeps heat in.
All the Ninja stuff is too big and too high current really.
Any thoughts or recommendations would be great.

ISTR the "Remoska" gadget being popular with caravan types. Goatpebble was quite a fan.      https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=5681.0 (https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=5681.0)

I've never found an electric grill that'll do steak properly, i.e. seared on the outside and juicy pink inside. IME by the time the outside is to my liking it's brown all the way through.  Nowadays I use a portable gas-cartridge burner that'll scorch food quite satisfactorily. You can even deep-fry on it. This sort of thing (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Campingaz-camping-2200-watt-capacity-transport/dp/B09KNQL782/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=Portable+Gas+Burner&qid=1702138317&sr=8-8).

You can also get double-ring ones.

You're after a small electric thrill?

Amazon, or Anne Summers.

I think they have those (single burner) at Decathlon. I'm sure I saw one the last time I was looking for potential replacements to my 1/4 century old Camping Gas camping stove (which I'm keeping 'cos I don't like any of the potential replacements.

Must be a 'meaty' powerpack If capable of supplying an electric grill.

HOMCOM do a small capacity (think Carradice Barley), 750W convection oven / grill.  No idea how good they are.

I'd second a Remoska.  Now available directly from Remoska. (https://www.remoska.co.uk/)
