For the last few weeks we have had the sound of sheep and lambs coming across the field. On a night if you went outside it was very loud. Today I haven't heard a single bleat. I think they might be sneaking up on me.

Someone in East Sussex is creating a Grand Clone Army of sheep, and you are right to be afraid. I suggest laying in stocks of border collies and mint sauce.

When I was stationed in N. Africa we had this once a year... Lamb, lamb everywhere and in stereophony; and from one day to the next, nothing; only tagines.

About this time of year the lambs have grown up to the stage where they no longer run bleating to Mum at every opportunity - the lamb equivalent of the independent teenager stage.
