Title: Cheap cycling mobile
Post by: Aidan on 26 February, 2010, 07:26:39 am
I know occasionally requests come up from people wanting cheap mobiles to take out with them.

Just had an email detailing this

Sim Free Blue Chip VX1 (http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/sim-free-blue-chip-vx1-p23697.htm?referer=N20100223_Active_Name-bluechipImage)

Looks like a nice simple phone at a reasonable price

All usual disclaimers, although I did buy a car kit of these people and they were very efficient

That looks like the "party phone" that Tesco were selling a little while ago.  No idea if they are any good or not.

If you can still get one (try Orange) the Alcatel OT-E205 is around about a tenner on PAYG and is fairly compact (95mm x 40mm x 20mm and weighs about 75g). It's pretty robust into the bargain - I've lost count of the number of times I've dropped mine.
