Although none of the show actually how lush the top is  the first picture comes close. And it plays and sounds better than it looks

I knew it was a PRS from the first photo  :P

Mine has a maple top, too, but flame rather than quilted.  It's not a real Tele; it actually cost more than a USA Tele, even though I put it together myself!

I don't know much about guitars, but by chance I happened to see through a window just off Bristol's Queen Square this afternoon a workshop where three men were hand-fettling guitars, electric and classical. Waghorn Guitars they were called.

Damn that's gorgeous (yours too Aidan). I've always wanted a green tele.

Very nice Aidan..
That quilted maple cap looks lush.

I fancy getting a PRS one day.
I like the Mira (http://www.prsguitars.com/mira/specs.php). Like a cross between an SG and a LP Jr.
And judging by this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLi8V3GXZR4), doesn't sound bad either.

I've never heard of the Paul Reed Smith band, but if he's the chap at the front of the poster, then... is he you?!?!?!

You need to drill a hole in it Roger, otherwise nobody's going to take your Quo tribute band seriously.

Not Quo.  Billy Bragg.  OK, he never played a greenburst Tele, but he did play a Tele and a greenburst Burns Steer.

Very nice. Instantly recognisable as a PRS. Would I be correct in assuming that it wasn't exactly cheap?!!!  :P

I think it is a PRS 25th Anniversary SE Custom 24 (http://www.dv247.com/guitars/prs-25th-anniversary-se-custom-24-electric-guitar-scarlet-red--71238) which can be yours for just a penny less than £600.

Certainly is  and more than worth every penny

Oh that's not too bad then. I thought it was going to be priced more like something like this (http://www.dv247.com/guitars/prs-custom-24-25th-anniversary-angry-larry--78759)!!

My guitar teacher has one of these

PRS Custom 22 Electric Guitar, Matteo Mist | DV247
 (http://www.dv247.com/guitars/prs-custom-22-electric-guitar-matteo-mist--71642)

And was really impressed by the quality and sound of mine. Wouldn't swap though ;D

Nice ... looks like the PRS that Alex Lifeson played in Rush's "Hold Your Fire" era (late 80s-early 90s).

Still got too many strings tho' :)

I can do fewer than 6, just not on a PRS - and Aidan's OP was about his new PRS. I thought you played (only) keyboards, interzen. What else do you play?
I'm primarily a bass guitarist, although obviously I use keyboards, sequencers and whatnot for electronic music.

ISTR that Alex was a PRS endorsee in the early 90s, and I'm pretty sure I remember him playing a cherry/tobacco sunburst PRS when I saw Rush in 1992 (Geddy Lee was still playing his Wal Mach I at this time ... drool!). They are lovely guitars, though.

PRS do basses as well ... like this one: Paul Reed Smith Guitars | Gary Grainger Private Stock Bass (http://www.prsguitars.com/grainger/index.html) - that's truly a thing of beauty, and probably has a price-tag to match.

Nice, but still too many strings :P.

Just picked up my new axe, an octave mandola. Strung in octaves on the bottom two courses, but in unison for the top two. Big, jangly, NICE!

Anyone want to go ahead and create a "Reader's Instruments" topic? :)
