i know we've had the lachrymose music thread, but I don't think we've done this.
I recently became aware of this remarkable piece by Bach. It has been set for the Associated Board Grade 7 exams, 2019-20. I have started to learn it - the Gigue from Partita no.1 in B flat.

I think he really was in piss-take mode here. It's wonderful!

Holst: The Planets (some of it); Orff: Carmina Burana; Tubular Bells.

Music from the 'classical' period doesn't - generally - lend itself to mirth. However this really is laugh out loud funny (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcrUuCDFLOQ)

Someone is clearly enjoying herself here...

Learning that piece is on my "to do" list.

Much of Shriekback's output over the years has made me smile. It's a taste I acquired in the early/mid 80's and they still amuse me. However, Pointless Rivers (https://youtu.be/HSLeiE7NzEo) really did make me hoot with laughter.

The first time I heard this I was totally blown away with the sheer joy of it. I think it helps if you have played the original.

Live At The Portland Arms ~ The Soft Boys. Uncle Bobby's lyrics are frequently hilarious - for eg "Uncorrected Personality Traits" - but this is on a different level altogether.
