I see that the 2012 London Nocturne is creeping up on us. An evening of Penny racing, folder racing and more traditional eyes out full on racing.
yes Tim, i'll be there, on the same folding bike, wearing same race face. the competition is very strong, including KeithH who won this race three times before. i had a go on his race-spec sponsored bike (tern verge - only one in uk) and there is quite a difference to what i'm riding. nevermind, i'll push as fast as i can!
big thanks to all who is coming and supporting - weather forecast looks good!
Some good photos there Charlotte.
Re-awakening last year's thread:
So, who is going?
Who is racing? Zig-zag we know. Any Penny racers from Ealing?
It's this Saturday, Smithfield.
The Awesome Kat Jungnickel* is, I think, the only woman racing a penny this year.Says Katrina Jungnickel on her publications.
* Her actual full name. Not many people know this, but many suspect.
Meh. Maybe she doesn't know either. ;D;D
Well done Rimas! Went after the heats (I was in the O2 when the folding final was on), but you were looking very strong in the heat. Keith H is the king of that race though, with good reason. I think he's won every year he's entered, apart from last year (Dahon's ringer Mr Janssen), win number five I think.
Mice didn't get lost on the course then? :P
yay, podium finish!
Ooh! Look! Controversy in the women's critierium. (http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/latest/538870/who-really-won-the-women-s-nocturne-at-smithfield.html)
Yup. I'll be down there. Looking forward to the Pennies, the hire bikes, the folders and the retro race. Not quite so enthused by the 'normal' crit racing.
