I have a question:
Can anyone explain how the hell all the old crusties thought that they were going to live forever? Surely they'd have each needed their own "vessel"?
Made sense to me - I thought they were pretty clear on the idea that they would become as one. It was the continuation of life, not identity, that concerned them.
By Hollywood standards, it is damn weird. For agreeing to it, John Malkovich went up in my estimation. It needed someone with a relatively high profile to be effective.
It's a pretty good movie - there are good characters, some really funny scenes and it's surprisingly touching at times.
