I;ll be sure to pack my hammer (to straighten the cranks) and some butterfly stitches...
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Holy crap I feel like I've been beaten up.  Two hours of bailing and a 37-year-old carcass: ouch ouch ouch.  Still, it gives me some ideas for a name for the beastie.  Famous husband-beaters and Queens of the Amazons, anyone?

Queen of the Amazons?     That'll be Nancy.  She was definitely in charge and ruling over Peggy.  The Swallows were in Diplomatic agreement, but never coming under her rule, instead John and Susan ran that camp well.

How's your Nancy bike then?

Yikes, somebody is keen to buy it, £1420 and still over 4 days to go. :o
Actually, it is rocket science.

Ordinary on the bay

That's stunning.

But it's going to go for megabucks and if I was to spend megabucks onna penny, it'd be a repro that I could ride lots.  Probably from Joff.

Me, I'd feel bad about crashing an antique - and I've crashed mine lots.  You can't go fixing a 120-year-old museum piece with a hammer* and still feel good.

Incidentally, I have day-2 muscle ache from hell today.  Whoever knew that scooting was such hard work? ::-)

Lick lick.  :)

An important point has been passed.  Not more riding - it was grotten today and I'm still achey sore.  No, the machine finally got a name.

Bucephalus!

Huge, willful, magnificent, and ridden by a preposterous blowhard :)

Yep - he learns that falling of a stupidly high saddle hurts.

Again!

It's the surprise cramps in right calf - scooting - and across my back - catching the behemoth before it falls - that get me.  ;D

It could be Henry - the bloke who gave me a go on his penny a few years ago.  He lives round your way, Woolly.

Is Joff back? Is he building pennies again?

I want a penny-farthing so much that it hurts.

I can lend you a lovely set of bruises.   ;D

And no, I'm not riding it on black ice.  On a scale of one to stupid, that's right up at the stupid end!
