My wife did not know who Vanessa Mae was when she appeared on "Britain's got Talent" SO I looked it up on YouTube and found a mislabeled video.

It was actually a Chinese group called the "Twelve Girl Band"

Different approach, but traditional Chinese instruments.

Any one else discovered an unusual but worthwhile musical group like this - if so who?

I was in Tokyo some time ago and managed (largely by serendipity) to pick up a CD by Cinc.

Cinc - folk-punk-pop band from Belgrade, Serbia

Some fine Serbian hat-tipping to the Impenetrable String Band, if you ask me.
