Russian protest against abuse of "privileged vehicles"
« on: 30 October, 2010, 05:49:05 pm »

When vehicles belonging to private firms starting using the flashing blue lights supposedly reserved for emergency vehicles, politicians, and various other special cases, allowing them to use reserved lanes, motorists protested by sticking blue buckets on the roofs of their cars. As we see here, Moscow's cyclists joined in too.

These big cars with the blue lights stuck on them are indeed a big nuisance, espcially since they allways tend to speed.

I guess back in Soviet times it was just party high ups who were entitled to use the reserved lanes, now lots of others have jumped on the bandwagon. You get a lot of this in India, too, surprise surprise.
