The return of the Best 100km
« on: 19 April, 2011, 12:20:10 am »
I did it again today, the weather was glorious and I am supposed to be a lot fitter than I was back in July last year.

I did the route anti-clockwise, so getting the fast descent into Elphin, and the bobbly up and down bits after the pies at the Lochinver Larder. Quite different colours at this time of year, and no clegs or midges!

I decided to show the bike more this time...

The descent to Elphin.

Inverpolly in its glory.

102km, with 1,350 m of climbing and quite a few 13% gradients. I've never managed to go all the way without walking at least one of the climbs. Did it today, despite being a porker!
It is simpler than it looks.

Best food pic ever!

Lovely photos, only a little jealous.
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

I can see why you keep going back!
There are no steep hills - just puny legs and the wrong gears :D

Get a bicycle. You will never regret it, if you live- Mark Twain

The pie had gone before I could find the camera  ;)

This was the original post

The best 100km in the country?

I forgot to put in this 'return of' thread that there are no longer telegraph poles in heaven.  :'( :'(
