For me, it was the 800m in the women's heptathlon. J Ennis is a titch compared to the other competitors. She looked like she was hanging on by the skin of her teeth, then from absolutely nowhere hammered down on the accelerator and powered past the opposition.

The men's tennis final was pretty damn good, but for a combination of tactics, determination and athleticism, the 800m heptathlon is my favourite.

That was wonderful to watch but the result was not in doubt; she could have been beaten by forty yards and still won the gold medal.  I think the 10,000 and the long jump were tenser but for heart in mouth it was Christine Ohurougu fo me (so far!).
