A lovely weekend with nice nutters.
I rode along the canal towpath from Leamington Spa to Long Itchington which was a nice ride. Got to The Green Man & put the tent up while chatting to old friends. A welcome beer and then the van turned up for monster size portions of fish & chips.
An early & restrained night by recent YACF standards..
Morning began with a strange thing called a "walk" to the Long Itch" diner for one of their mega breakfasts. We then resumed a more natural means of ambulation and went for a bike ride.
The weather was changeable, but not too bad. Enough sunshine to keep us smiling , but a distinct lack of shorts.
Mid morning Speshact decided to pop in to visit old friends unannounced. These kind people invited 7 sweaty strangers into their home for tea & biscuits. Kim was most taken with a gurgling jug, but refrained from fixing their dodgy lights.
My chicken baguette at Canons Ashby was only OK, the cakes looked better.
Kim was most unhappy when a Robin took a dump on her recumbent seat....
Back on the road we climbed to a bench with a view. It was a view alright, of a big black cloud heading right for us!
We got the waterproofs on before it struck, hail, not rain. The fast descent was rather painful..
Canal towpath back to The Green Man to find Basil's tent, closely followed by the man himself.
More beers then we walked to The Harvester. We were put in the bar area rather than the restaurant, possibly as a result of the blood & teeth marks on the table from last year.
A fine meal , and Nothing Happened

More beer in the pub and a goodnight tot courtesy of Canardly.
A noisy night (fighting ducks!) porridge for breakfast followed by a bacon & egg roll. Always ask Canardly on trips, he likes to feed people.
Goodbyes were said and I trundled off for the next part of my holiday.
One sad point, the magnificent specimen who was on public display last year was nowhere to be seen :-(
Probably ended up on the menu..
