Sort of norovirus issue
« on: 14 September, 2015, 11:54:29 pm »
Well don't know if it is but.... on saturday I was unwell. Going to the loo became an urgent matter and farts were not possible, I even threw up twice.  I also felt/feel that I am full of wind.  On saturday I burped the whole alphabet from a to z in one burp!  Moment of pride and wish I had recorded it.  Later burps were similar but didn't feel up to tricks.  After the throwing up incident I think I had a low bg issue as I was very white and wanted to lie down....

Sunday was better more energetic and had some appetite and ate some food but back the diarrhoea came.  I did eat a few bits on saturday and did drink warm peach tea cordial. tea, fruit tea and water.  I also ate some yoghurt.  Now today, still with the diarrhoea and after dinner tonight a whole two hours past before I could recognise bits of my dinner, yeah I know I should chew more.  So havent taken my diabetic drugs, metformin as they seem to exagerate the diarrhoea.  Nor any other meds, statins and happy tabs...

Looking on NHS choices it say get the to an out of hours doctor now, but I only threw up twice and no one else whom I live with has any similar symptoms.

So what to do? Find a drop in centre or Doctors or turn up to A&E?

GP/Walk-In Centre.

Someone should check your sugar ± electrolytes and postural BP.
You need medication advice too.

Ah BG are sort of all over the place but that I think is a bit no food and then no metformin.

Am trying to drink fluids and some food but not move about as moving seems to accelerate things.

You really ought to see somebody who can assess you objectively.

It is a real hassle as I'm at the girlfriends and no walk in centre nearby.

Can you still turn up to a doctors and get seen?

Oh dear!
Keep a very close eye on your sugars.
Check urine for ketones if possible.
Go to A&E if persistent vomiting/ketosis/BG>13 or <3.5.

Ended up with a night, well 5 hours in A&E.

Blood test back and I have a high white blood cell count and was dehydrated too.

Looks like I could be like this for a bit... :-X
