Snakebite punctures are very unlikely with tubs, so much of the above is not directly transferrable to Audax say. There is no single objective answer to the wheel/tyre/pressure problem. I favour 36 spokes, low profile rims and at least 28mm tyres inflated to no more than 95 rear and 80 front. I then work back from that to spec a bike, a long wheelbase helps stability. Other approaches are as valid.
