Watching velodrome racing makes more sense once you have actually tried it - not that I've done any proper racing, just a couple of taster sessions with some informal sprints and team pursuits.

I'd love to do some proper track racing - I imagine a keirin must be one of the most thrilling things you can do on two wheels.

Once you lose that initial sense of TEH FEAR riding on a velodrome is aces.  I've been fortunate enough to have raced on more than a dozen; Meadowbank was my favourite because if the view from the top of the banking.

It's certainly one of the most exciting ways to induce an asthma attack I've discovered...

(My lungs, sadly, were made for audax)
