The first time I heard that term I was on top of Snowdon. I thought my companion had said 'Rock Inspector' and was looking for a chap in a hard hat with a geologists hammer..

I heard 'brock inspector' and was thinking of badgers.

The first time I saw one was in Snowdonia about 20 years ago.  I'd never heard of them until the previous night when perusing the selection of out of date outdoors magazines in the youth hostel common room I came across an article on them.  Then lo and behold the very next day there it was !  I had no idea at that point how rare they were.  I've never seen once since !
