USB-C memory stick

Can anyone recommend a usb-c memory stick? Ideally something metal, and likely to survive banging about in the bottom of a backpack.

I use 1TB Sandisk Ultra dual drives. They are USB-3.0 at one end and USB-C at the other. For throwing in a pannier or a back pocket that might get wet I would wrap them in clingfilm but that is just me.

Here is one on amazon.nl

Sandisk?

I am wary of sandisk.

In the true yacf spirit of not answering the question how about these

Will allow you to use an old-fashioned usb stick in a usb-c socket.

Well I would need to buy the stick anyway, so this is then 2 things to lose in my camera bag.

Ideally I'd like a usb-c only device.

See above concerns about sandisk.

Also given the static electricity of cling film, wrapping a SSD flash device in it would be a Bad Idea™

Admittedly a while ago, but I've had Sandisk flash drives mysteriously refuse to work on Windows machines, which seems like another reason to avoid.

That sandisk thing, I have questions....

Like, is this unexpected given faulty items and infant failure of devices is to be expected.
Having many early failures from a series of devices, what other factors are there? USB Killer laptop? Unstable Van power supply? Generator?...
What's the situation like in a regulatory arena which has consumer protection...

But then also Hollowbond.

Are SSDs the same as USB flash drives? That article only mentions the SSDs not the long established flash drives. Are there issues with WDs SanDisk ultra flash drives?

I'd probably still go Sandisk/Western Digital as they have been least worst in my illustrious experience.

Usual rules apply - data doesn't exist untless it's stored in three places and once of those is geographically remote.
I only use USB sticks and external drives for moving data around. I don't use them for anything other than transient storage.
