Is that in the "Your tenuous claims to fame" thread?

Is there such a thing ? My friend's aunt used to look after Semprini's dog when he (Semprini) was on holiday. I really want to tell the world about that. Where is the thread ?

I always thought Dave Dee was two people, as in Dave, Dee, Dozy, etc... ???  I thought it a bit strange to hear they had both died on the same day...

This is my favourite tenuous claim to fame ever Snakehips.

1. Not you but your friend.
2. Not even your friend but his Aunt
3. Not even someone I have ever heard of
4  Not even that person I never heard of but his dog

Class.

I bet I'm more closely related to Barack Obama than you were to looking after that dog.

More to the point - who the hell is Semprini? Sounds like a stage magician to me.

The whole point of a tenuous claim to fame is that the person should be famous, surely? Otherwise it would be a tenuous claim to non-entity, and lets face it, nobody wants that.  ;)

He was very famous, back in't day.  Even I've heard of him.  He put on a silly accent and ran a radio music show called Semprini's Serenade.
