I hope you don't have any influence in this area Rob.  I'd hate the tickets to disappear before I book them this afternoon when I do my bicycle reservations at the station.

Have you checked to see whether the tickets are available for the same price from National Express ? (It doesn't matter that you're not using NEEC trains, you can still book any advance tickets through them.) You can do the bicycle reservations at the same time on that site and get the tickets posted to you for free.

1. Make sure reservations are available on the train: http://www.greenbank.org/misc/neec1.jpg
2. When booking the tickets, click on the Bicycle Space bit: http://www.greenbank.org/misc/neec2.jpg
3. Add the right number of bicycle reservations (up to the number of tickets you're buying): http://www.greenbank.org/misc/neec3.jpg
4. Check all of the details at the end.

It'll work if all of the trains in the route have reservations and everything is working properly. Sometimes something is amiss and you can't book stuff.

The National Express site is quite good but I cannot tell for the life of me if it can actually make the cycle reservations.   I can select bikes and tell it how many but it doesn't seem to confirm that the spaces are available.   Nice idea but lacking in a bit of key information.

Because of this uncertainty I'll have to be sure and visit the station in person,.  I cannot afford to buy tickets and then not have the bike reservations.

If I'm being dumb, please tell me how this should be working.

I don't seem to be able to see that before I have to commit to buy though.

Ah, I've sussed it.  I didn't reserve seats so it didn't trigger reserve bicycles display information.  Once I request seats it shows me bicycle spaces also.
