I learnt something yesterday
« on: 15 December, 2009, 08:28:26 am »
I was in Darth Ian's shop (Future Cycles) looking for a 73mm bottom bracket.

And lo!, Darth Ian showed me, with the help of a big box of miscellaneous bottom brackets, that Shimano 68mm and 73mm bottom brackets are the same size. The adjustable cup is longer on the 73mm is all.

I bet you all knew that anyway.

I'll happily admit to having not known that.   Thinking about it:  It seems like the easiest and cheapest bit to re-engineer for the sake of 5mm so I guess it is sort of obvious.

Busy. The Forest Row shop is half the size it was  :(  (It's been that way for a year or two)

However, he's just opened a new shop in Lewes  :)

Oh.  Things looking up, then?  Last time we were in, it was very slow, and he'd just let the other half of the shop go.  It didn't look positive... :(

Hope things get better for him.  He's a top chap, and it's Butterfly's favourite bike shop :)
Getting there...
